I work in partnership with Elizabeth Perez, of Expecting Wonder, to offer partnered birth doula support and add-on options, designed to give you the support and preparation you're looking for to be able to make the most out of your birth experience and beyond.
Doula Package ($2400)
Two prenatal visits
We love getting to know you before the birth! Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy when we meet, we will schedule up to two visits in your home. They give us a chance to spend some time getting comfortable with each other, discuss any positive or not-so-great feelings you’re having, and make sure that we’re all doing everything we can to make you feel as good as possible as your big day (or night!) approaches. If we begin working together late in your pregnancy, we can work together to adjust the meetings to suit your needs.
Ongoing phone/email support and availability
We're not just there for you during your labor. If things come up for you that you’d like to talk about, we are here for you. We also continue to be available in this way throughout the “fourth trimester” following the birth of your new baby.
Uninterrupted labor support
The good stuff! We will work together ahead of time to make sure Elizabeth or I come at just the right moment to make sure everyone has what they need to feel supported, confident and cared for throughout the duration of labor. After the birth, we will hang around to make sure you are feeling well and that nursing (if that’s your plan!) has gotten off to a great start.
Two postpartum visits
Following the birth, we are always eager to come see you all again and answer any questions you may have about taking care of yourself or your child. We like to schedule the first visit for the first two-four days after the birth so we can talk about nursing and how everyone is adjusting. The second visit can take place at any time within the first month postpartum and it's the perfect time to get some extra newborn tips and serves as a sweet moment for us to close out our formal relationship.
These additional options are designed to provide additional prenatal education and postpartum support — plus we get to spend more time together!
Prenatal breastfeeding class ($300)
The first few days are a really challenging time to absorb much new information- by talking through all of the breastfeeding basics ahead of time, my hope is that we can avoid too many moments of staring at your baby wondering “now what?!” We will talk about how breastfeeding even works, how to detect early feeding cues, what normal and realistic newborn nursing patterns look like, how to comfortably position yourself and baby, and how to achieve a comfortable latch. It’s a great way to take advantage of your lactation consultant doula!
Prenatal newborn care class ($275)
We spend so much time talking about the birth, sometimes we don’t quite stop to think about the real, live, human being you’re bringing into your world! As a postpartum nurse, I’ve had the distinguished pleasure of being puked on, pooped on and screamed at by countless newborns, and they have each taught me new tips and tricks about how to keep them happy. I’d love to share them with you! We’ll cover normal newborn behavior and language, simple soothing techniques, and any basic skills you’re worried about.
Postpartum Lactation Consultation ($250)
Anytime during your baby’s first 3 months, I can come for an additional visit as a formal lactation consult. Maybe things have gotten a little complicated and we can work to develop a plan that’s achievable for all of you, or maybe things are going super well and you just want to show off! Either way, you’ll have peace of mind going into your birth knowing that you’ll have support no matter what scenario you end up in.
